Dean MacEwen, M.D.

Dr. MacEwen is world renowned in the field of pediatric orthopedics. His relationship with the CNR dates back to our beginning days. Many families who traveled great distances to come for our rehabilitation service often needed orthopedic opinions, consultations and in some cases surgery. Since the families wanted the best, we were extremely fortunate to be located 20 minutes away from the Alfred 1. Dupont Institute, a large world famous hospital dedicated to the management of children with orthopedic problems. Dr. MacEwen was the chief of surgery and medical director of this prestigious Institute and is credited with its reputation for excellence. Because of our close proximity, many of our children were seen by both facilities and an important relationship with the CNR developed. It continues to do so as Dr. MacEwen now heads the orthopedic team at St. Christopher Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.

His guidance, help and encouragement has been greatly appreciated by the CNR and the many children he has personally seen for us.
